Press Review

All the villages in the land are buzzing with excitement, in just 12 days, it’s the Shogun’s birthday! Gather your finest artisans, craft splendid offerings, and deliver them on time to win his favor.

Arigatō is a strategic and competitive card game where you play as the leader of your Village. Combine the best Artisan cards to claim victory.

A game is played over 12 rounds, marked by the 12 positions of the Day token on the Calendar.

Each round consists of 3 distinct phases, all played simultaneously:

  1. Dawn: Role assignment. Secretly choose the role of each of your 5 Artisans in hand. (1 resident, 2 travelers, 2 crafters)
  2. Day: Village management. Reveal your Artisan cards and collect the Objects provided by the producer Artisans. Trigger the effects of your resident Artisans if applicable. Manage your Objects and try to gather those required by your residents to prepare Offerings for the Shogun.
  3. Dusk: End of the Round. Check if you fulfill the Shogun’s whims for the day, and earn additional favors.

1 – Dawn
Role assignment

Secretly choose the role of each of your 5 Artisans in hand: 2 travelers are passed to the Village on your left. 2 producers are kept to craft Objects in the next phase, and 1 resident is placed in your Village to craft offerings and provide its effects.

Your Village has only 4 Workshops, so you must make strategic choices regarding which residents to install.

2 – Day
Village management

Reveal your Artisan cards and collect the Objects provided by the producer Artisans. Trigger the effects of your resident Artisans if applicable. Manage your Objects and try to gather those required by your residents to prepare Offerings for the Shogun.

3 – Dusk
End of the round

Check if you meet the day's Objective.

End of the Game

When the last round is completely finished, take something to write and count your Favors:

  • Mark a number of Favors depending on the number of Objective tokens you have.
  • Add the Favors tokens earned during the game from your Artisans' effects.
  • Add the total value of all the Favors tokens earned during the game from your Artisan cards' effects.

The player with the most Favors wins the game.In case of a tie, the victory is shared.
